Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is an important inorganic chemical product, which has important applications in coatings, inks, paper, plastics, chemicals, ceramics and other industries. It is insoluble in water, fat, insoluble in dilute acid and inorganic acid and alkali, and soluble in hydrogen only. Fluoric acid. This photochemical activity is particularly evident in the case of anatase titanium dioxide under ultraviolet irradiation. This property makes titanium dioxide a photosensitive oxidation catalyst for certain inorganic compounds and a photoreduction catalyst for certain organic compounds.
